Description
Signed Montague Dawson, this large-scale maritime oil giclee on canvas depicts a naval engagement between an American frigate and a British multi-masted sailing vessel in white-capped waters with clouds of gunsmoke. The painting is housed in a gilt-molded frame with a leaf-and-vine motif and a textured linen liner. The reverse features a green paper backing and a hanging wire.

Condition report:
The painting is in generally good condition with minor surface particulates visible on the canvas. The frame shows age-related cracking and wear to the gilded finish. The green paper backing on the reverse has several significant tears. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
