Description
This maritime oil on canvas painting is signed Earle G Barlow in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a large multi-masted sailing vessel navigating turbulent, blue-crested waves alongside several smaller sailboats. The work is executed in a traditional style with visible impasto texture throughout the sea and sky. The color palette consists of cool blues and whites with warm yellow highlights in the sky and sea spray. The painting is housed in a large, ornate, molded frame featuring a silver and gold-toned finish with scrollwork motifs and a cream-colored linen liner. On the reverse, the canvas is stapled to a wooden stretcher. An inventory label reading NO. LM-2406 is present on the frame. Minor paint marks are visible on the wooden stretcher and the back of the frame.

Condition report:
The painting and frame appear to be in good condition. The frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age and handling. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
