Description
A set of hand-colored architectural prints depicting 19th-century English landmarks and street scenes. The subjects include neoclassical structures, a church spire resembling St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and a manor house identified by a handwritten verso label as Place House, Padstow, Cornwall. One scene includes a building with the facade inscriptions REPOSITORY and EXHIBITION. The prints illustrate urban life with figures in period attire and horse-drawn carriages. Each work is presented in a triple-layered mat of cream, light blue, and gold, within a decorative gilded frame. The reverse of each frame features a gallery label from Howard/Mandville Gallery. One frame includes a TruVue UV Protection glass label.
Approximately 14 by 17.5 inches each.
Condition report:
Overall good condition. Minor wear to the gilded frames and backing paper. One frame exhibits a small puncture in the dust cover on the reverse. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
