Description
A pair of framed nautical prints after the British marine artist Tim Thompson (born 1951). The prints depict two historic sailing vessels, the HMS Victory and the USS Constitution, shown under full sail in choppy waters. Each print is executed in a realistic style with the ship’s title printed in the lower center margin and a stylized artist signature in the lower right margin. The works are housed within cream-colored mats and gilt-finished frames. Affixed to the paper backing of each frame is a printed biography of the artist, Tim Thompson, detailing his career and reputation as a marine artist.
Frame width: approximately 12 inches.
Condition report:
The prints and frames are in good overall condition. The gilt-finished frames show minor surface wear and light scuffing consistent with age and handling. The paper backing on the reverse of the frames remains intact with some light toning. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
