Description
This watercolor painting on paper is signed Thomas W. Morley in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a young girl in late 19th or early 20th-century attire, including a hat with a green ribbon and a fur-collared coat, seated by a rustic wooden fence. The subject is shown reading an open book, accompanied by a small, long-haired dog. The artwork is presented behind glass with a green mat and is housed in an ornate, gilded rococo-style frame featuring scroll and floral motifs. The reverse is paper-sealed and fitted with a wire for hanging.

Condition report:
The watercolor appears to be in stable condition. The frame exhibits wear consistent with age, including visible cracking to the gilded plaster ornamentation and minor losses to the decorative elements.
