Description
This maritime reproduction on canvas is identified as The Pagoda Anchorage and bears the signature of the British artist Montague Dawson (1890-1973) in the lower-left corner. The composition features a large multi-masted sailing ship in a calm harbor, surrounded by smaller vessels including a traditional junk with reddish-brown sails. The scene is set under a hazy, atmospheric sky with a pagoda visible on the distant shoreline. The work is stretched on a wooden frame and is equipped with a hanging wire on the reverse.

Condition report:
The canvas displays a significant horizontal indentation or crease located to the right of the center. Numerous small white flecks indicating paint loss are scattered across the surface. There is visible wear and minor loss at the edges and corners of the canvas. The reverse shows evidence of foxing and staining.
