Description
This framed watercolor painting on paper is titled Visions of the Past and depicts a pair of Cheyenne Ghost Dance moccasins positioned on a bed of dried autumn leaves and twigs. The work is rendered in a realistic style. It is signed and dated Robert MacGinnis 87 in the lower right corner. The reverse of the frame includes a handwritten inscription that reads Visions of the Past (Cheyenne Ghost Dance Moccasins) followed by the date 1987 and the artist signature. The piece is presented under glass within a gilt-finished wood frame and features a double mat consisting of a red inner border and a linen-textured outer border.
Condition report:
The artwork is in good condition with no apparent damage to the paper or pigment. The frame shows minor surface scuffs and light wear to the gilt finish along the edges and corners. The backing board has some minor creasing and adhesive residue. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
