Description

This 1962 Volkswagen Beetle is a two-door sedan restoration candidate with rebuilt engine (see all images – by Boeing mechanic). The vehicle is identified by the hand-scribed chassis number 6477124 located on the front apron. The exterior is finished in a faded pale yellow or light green paint, while the front hood and fenders are currently coated in dark gray primer. The interior is appointed with black textured vinyl upholstery and a white two-spoke steering wheel. The cabin features a floor-mounted four-speed manual transmission and a three-pedal configuration. Dashboard instrumentation consists of VDO components, including a separate fuel gauge and a speedometer with a five-digit odometer. The vehicle is fitted with wide five bolt pattern wheels mounted with vintage Sears and Dunlop tires. Several windows retain the Sekurit mark alongside the Volkswagen logo. A vintage service sticker from Bill Blume Volkswagen of Edmonds, Washington, remains in the door jamb. The front trunk area contains exposed wiring and a spare tire. The odometer reading was 72916 during inspection; therefore, the mileage is unverified. Note, this is an estate – the heir/brother said that his brother told him almost everything was there to restore the bug, but that is your call – anything you locate upon pickup that has to do with the VW is yours if you win the bid. Easy driveway to pull out of garage and tow. Clean and Clear Title!

Condition report:

Clean and Clear Title! The vehicle is in fair condition and serves as a significant restoration project. It has been inside this garage for decades. Notable physical issues include extensive rust and perforation on the lower door sills, inner door panels, and floor sections. The interior is partially disassembled with the door cards removed and the steering wheel center cap missing. The exterior paint is heavily faded, and the front body panels are in primer. Mechanical systems and engine condition were not tested. There are a lot of new in package authentic parts ready to go onto and into this car. No smells or smoke.
