Description
This lot features two pairs of vintage binoculars, each with its respective carrying case and original retail box. The first pair is a Jason Empire Mercury model 1116F, featuring 7 x 35 magnification and a wide-angle field of view of 500 feet at 1000 yards. The instrument is constructed with a metal body and a textured black vulcanite-style covering. Markings on the left prism plate include Mercury 7 x 35, Wide Angle, Field: 500ft at 1000yds., Fully Coated Optics, and Jason Empire. The right plate is marked Jason and Model 1116F. This pair is accompanied by a black zippered soft-sided carrying bag with Jason branding and a retail box for Empire Binoculars Model 218. The second pair is a JCPenney Fast Focus model with 8 x 30 magnification and a field of view of 393 feet at 1000 yards. It features a metal body with textured black covering and a gilded Fast Focus script logo on the center focusing wheel. Documentation identifies the distributor as J.C. Penney Co., Inc., New York, NY, with Retail No. 626-0133 and Catalog No. 932-0649. This pair includes a semi-rigid black pebble-grain case with red felt lining and a silver-tone metal clasp.
