Description

This collection of United States Air Force (USAF) apparel and field gear dates from the Vietnam War through the mid-1970s, primarily attributed to a service member named Fry. The grouping includes an OG-107 M-1965 field jacket featuring a button-in cold weather liner with a visible label from Winfield Mfg. Co., Inc., size Medium (8415-00-782-2889). The jacket is adorned with blue and white embroidered U.S. Air Force and Fry name tapes, alongside a Strategic Air Command (SAC) pocket patch. Multiple OG-107 cotton sateen utility shirts are included, featuring First Lieutenant rank insignia and additional SAC patches. The collection further contains a khaki short-sleeve shirt with a Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) patch, a dark blue utility shirt with enlisted rank insignia, and a pair of black leather dress oxfords. Supplemental equipment consists of an olive drab canvas duffel bag (2 of these) stenciled with the name Donald, a pair of flight line hearing protectors with a padded headband, a blue web belt with a silver-tone buckle, a small khaki canvas pouch, and a belt of inert brass shell casings joined by metal links.

Condition report:

The items are in good vintage condition, exhibiting signs of authentic service wear. Textiles show typical fading, creasing from storage, and minor fraying at the edges of patches and collars. The leather footwear shows moderate scuffing and wear to the soles. The hearing protectors show age-related degradation to the foam and plastic components. All items appear structurally sound and representative of the period.
