Description
A collection of seven items of vintage basketball memorabilia associated with the 1978-79 Seattle SuperSonics championship season and Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens. The lot includes one felt pennant and six vintage t-shirts.
The orange felt pennant commemorates the 1978-79 NBA World Championship won by the Seattle SuperSonics. It features a green screen-printed graphic depicting the Seattle skyline and Space Needle within a basketball hoop motif. Text reads WORLD CHAMPIONS SEATTLE 1978-79 SUPERSONICS. The official NBA logo is printed in the upper left corner.
The apparel group (kids sizes) includes a vintage white Adidas ringer t-shirt with green trim at the collar and cuffs. The front features a green graphic for the Lenny Wilkens Basketball Camp All-Star Team, while the reverse displays a large multicolored rainbow Adidas trefoil logo with the brand name printed vertically. This shirt retains its original white fabric Adidas tag.
One orange vintage Nike t-shirt features a black screen-printed graphic reading LENNY WILKENS LEAGUE CHAMPION. The shirt includes a blue fabric Nike tag with white lettering and the swoosh logo, indicating a men’s size small (34-36).
The collection is completed by four orange t-shirts from the Lenny Wilkens Basketball Camp. These shirts feature various green and white graphics, including the All-Star Team designation and standard camp logos. One shirt features a white name bar on the reverse with the name ERIC LINER handwritten in blue marker.
Condition report:
The items are in vintage, used condition with wear consistent with age and personal use. The felt pennant shows horizontal creasing from previous folding, light surface staining, and minor wear to the pointed tip and edges. The t-shirts exhibit notable fabric pilling, particularly on the orange cotton-blend shirts. The white Adidas ringer shirt shows yellowing and discoloration around the neckline and underarms. Several shirts show fading and minor cracking to the screen-printed graphics. Several shirts have a previous owner\'s name written in permanent marker on the label area on the front.
