Description
This original watercolor painting on paper, titled Church Flowers, is by the artist Priscilla Wiles Everett. The work depicts a large cluster of irises in shades of deep purple, lavender, and white with prominent yellow centers. The composition is rendered in a loose, contemporary style using transparent watercolor washes against a cool blue and gray background. The painting is signed and dated Priscilla Wiles 84 in the lower right corner. A typed artist label is adhered to the verso backing paper identifying the artist as Priscilla Wiles Everett, the title of the work, and a historical gallery price of $450. The artwork is presented in a double neutral mat and housed in a silver-finished wooden frame under glass. The scale of the work is significant for the medium.

Condition report:
The watercolor shows evidence of slight mat burn and toning visible at the inner edges of the sight area. The silver-finished wooden frame exhibits minor separation at the mitered corners and scattered surface scuffs. The brown paper backing on the verso is peeling away from the frame at the edges and shows significant moisture staining and foxing, which has also affected the artist label. The pigments appear relatively bright, though some light-consistent fading may be present due to age. No smell home.
