Description
This Colonial Revival style spinet desk is constructed of stained hardwood with a dark walnut-toned finish. Modeled after the form of a square piano, the desk features a hinged flip-top that opens to reveal an interior workspace. The interior gallery includes two sets of scalloped pigeonhole compartments flanking a small central drawer with a turned wood knob. A retractable fold-out writing surface is situated below the storage compartments. The desk is supported by four heavily turned spindle or bobbin legs and features a decorative scalloped apron across the front. The back of the desk is unfinished wood. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.

Condition report:
The desk is in fair to good structural condition but exhibits significant cosmetic wear. The front panel and top surface show numerous deep and shallow surface scratches. The interior writing surface has minor scuffs and scratches from use. The unfinished back panel shows wear and minor splintering along the edges. General scuffing and small nicks are present on the legs and edges consistent with age and use. All hinges, the interior drawer, and the fold-out surface are functional.
