Description
This modern oil on canvas painting depicts Frances Tucker Montresor in profile, rendered in the 18th-century British portraiture style. The subject is shown with powdered hair, a black hat with a gold tassel, and a red military-inspired coat featuring gold epaulettes and a white ruffled jabot. The work is executed on canvas and mounted to a contemporary wooden stretcher with staples. The reverse of the frame bears a commercial label for an Emilio Gold frame, size 12×16. The painting is housed in a heavily ornate, gilded composite frame with scrolling floral motifs and a gold-painted liner.
Exterior frame dimensions: 21 x 17 inches.
Condition report:
The canvas is in good overall condition. The frame shows significant dust and grime accumulation within the deep ornamental carvings. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
