Description
This 19th-century watercolor on paper by English artist Edmund Dubarren is titled The White Cliffs of Dover. The coastal scene depicts figures, horses, and a cart on a beach alongside small sailing vessels in the surf, set against a backdrop of red-toned cliffs. The work is signed and dated 1887 by the artist in the lower left corner. It is mounted within a light linen-covered mat and housed in an ornate, gilded gesso-on-wood frame. Affixed to the reverse are gallery labels from the Howard/Mandville Gallery in Edmonds, Washington, providing the attribution, title, and medium.

Condition report:
The watercolor is in good overall condition with no visible foxing or significant fading. The gilded gesso-on-wood frame shows minor age-appropriate wear, including small surface abrasions and minor losses to the gilding. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
