Description
A collection of original pencil drawings on paper by Western artist Dan Jordan, from The Old West portrait series. The works consist of character studies depicting men in historical frontier attire, including a figure in a top hat, a figure in a wide-brimmed hat, a figure with a headband, and a figure wearing a fur hat with a grizzly claw necklace. Each drawing is signed and dated by the artist, with visible dates including 1976, 1983, 1984, and 1986. The drawings are professionally matted using a triple-mat system featuring a red-accented white mat and a secondary black velvet mat. The collection is housed in stepped oak-finish wood frames under glass. The reverse of the frames includes printed biographical information about the artist and series labels identifying the works as part of the Old West Portrait Series.
Frame width: approximately 11.5 inches.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. The drawings and mats appear well-preserved under glass. The wood frames show minor surface wear and light scuffing consistent with age. The paper dust covers on the reverse of the frames exhibit some minor tearing and shelf wear. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
