Description
An oval oil on canvas portrait depicting a gentleman in late 18th-century attire. The subject is rendered with powdered hair and a white cravat, wearing a dark greenish coat over a patterned waistcoat. The painting is housed in a decorative gilded oval frame featuring a purple corded velvet slip. The reverse is finished with a wooden backing board and equipped with a wire hanger. White chalk inscriptions on the reverse include the name Olivier and the alphanumeric sequence A.M. 211.

Condition report:
The painting exhibits pronounced craquelure across the entire canvas surface. A small area of paint loss or a scuff is visible on the lower right side of the subject\'s coat. The gilded frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
