Description
A pair of maritime artworks depicting sailing vessels on textured, metallic surfaces. The scenes include a multi-masted ship in golden tones and a second vessel portrayed in a misty, greenish-gold light. The works are executed on metallic plates marked on the reverse as Micro-Metal Ball MADE IN USA. Each piece is mounted within a black velvet-textured liner and housed in an ornate, gilded gesso-on-wood frame in a traditional style. The frames are stamped HECHO EN MEXICO on the reverse.
Plate: 8 x 10 inches
Frame: 13 x 15 inches.
Condition report:
The frames show significant wear, including prominent chipping and loss to the gilded gesso on the corners and edges, exposing the underlying composite material. The velvet liners show minor accumulation of dust. The metallic plates appear to be in generally good condition with no significant surface loss. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
