Description
A set of framed prints depicting nineteenth-century British architectural and street scenes in a tinted engraving or lithographic style. The subjects include a Gothic Revival manor house inscribed in pencil on the matting as Tregothnan House. Cornwall. 1832 A.D. and a town square with figures and horse-drawn transport inscribed Truro Cornwall 1832 A.D. Other scenes include a castle with a hunting party and hounds in the foreground and a covered market scene featuring figures and classical columns. Each print is mounted within a multi-layered cream and pale blue mat and housed in a decorative gilt-wood frame featuring a rope-twist inner border. The reverse of the frames includes gallery labels from the Howard/Mandeville Gallery of Edmonds, Washington.
Each frame measures approximately 11.5 by 13.5 inches.
Condition report:
The prints appear to be in good condition with stable colors. The frames exhibit minor age-appropriate wear and light scuffing to the gilt surfaces. The protective backing paper on the reverse of several frames is torn. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
