Lot 50:
Description
A Karastan Floral Kirman rug, pattern number 742, featuring a Tree of Life motif. The central design is set within an arched mihrab-style field and depicts an ornamental vase with dense floral scrolls and avian figures. The color palette is dominated by ivory, seafoam green, and madder red. The main border consists of circular cartouches containing various animal and human figures, flanked by multiple floral guard bands. The construction incorporates raised, metallic-wrapped threads providing brocade-like highlights to the pattern. The rug is finished with a long fringe at both ends.
Length: 64 inches
Width: 48 inches.
Lighting makes the colors look un-even, but it’s very even and vibrant.
Condition report:
Localized staining and light brown discoloration are visible in one corner of the cream-colored outer border. The rug exhibits several areas of minor loose threading and localized pile wear consistent with use or simply how it was made - appears un-used. Rug is from a clean smoke free home.
