Description
This small-scale oil on canvas painting is a reproduction after the 1786 self-portrait by Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun, depicting the artist and her daughter in a close embrace. The work is executed in a Neoclassical style and is mounted on a wooden stretcher secured with metal tacks. The reverse of the canvas bears a partially torn and aged paper label with handwritten text identifying the subject as Mme. Le Brun & Daughter (Mme Le Brun) and stating the piece was Painted in the Louvre, Paris, alongside the number 262. A separate inventory number 95171 is handwritten on the upper stretcher bar.

Condition report:
The painting exhibits significant condition issues including prominent paint loss and flaking along the edges and corners. There is visible craquelure across the composition and minor surface abrasions. The canvas and the reverse label show general darkening and discoloration consistent with age. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
