Description
A limited edition fine art print by Alaskan artist Byron Birdsall (1937-2016) titled The U.S.R.C. Bear. The composition depicts the historic United States Revenue Cutter Bear amidst an Arctic ice field at sunset, with dog sled teams and figures in the foreground. The work is executed on heavy textured paper and was published in 1995 by Artique Ltd. of Anchorage, Alaska. The lower margin features the artist hand-signature in pencil, the title, and the edition number 247/500. A red artist chop mark is located in the lower left corner of the image. Printed text within the image area identifies the artist, the publication year of 1995, and the historical subject date of 1898. Copyright and publisher information are printed along the bottom edge of the sheet.
Paper measures approximately 25 by 19 inches.
Condition report:
The print is in overall good condition. There are minor handling marks and light creasing visible along the outer white margins. The printed image remains bright with no visible fading or foxing. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
