Description
A limited edition embossed intaglio print titled Hawaiian Humpbacks by artist J.D. Mayhew. The composition features an adult humpback whale and its calf in the foreground, set against a tropical coastline with palm trees, coastal architecture, and mountain peaks. The work is produced on heavy, textured paper with deckled edges and features prominent embossed elements that create a three-dimensional effect in the clouds and waves. The piece is pencil-signed Mayhew in the lower right, titled in the lower center, and numbered 42/150 in the lower left. It is presented in a silver-toned metal frame with a light gray linen-style mat. The reverse bears a gallery label from Plasteel Frames of Seattle, Washington, and is fitted with a hanging wire.

Condition report:
The paper exhibits visible foxing and brown spotting, particularly along the top margin and corners. Light toning is present along the deckled edges. The linen mat shows minor discoloration, and the frame has light surface wear and scuffing consistent with age. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
