Description
A limited edition marine art print by artist Geoff Hunt titled The Ionian Mission. This work depicts historical sailing vessels navigating a swelling sea and serves as a reproduction of the painting originally created for the cover of Patrick O’Brian’s novel of the same name. The original painting is held in the collection of The Royal Naval Museum in Portsmouth, England. The print features a handwritten edition number of 368/550 in the bottom left margin and a corresponding graphite signature by the artist in the bottom right. Printed text along the bottom provides publication details, including a 1997 copyright by Mystic Seaport. The item is presented on heavy art paper.
Condition report:
The overall condition is good. There is a minor localized stain visible on the right-hand margin. Art is from a clean smoke free home.
