Description
This Mariner 15M is a 15 horsepower outboard boat motor manufactured in Japan. The unit features a manual pull-start mechanism with the word START embossed on the handle and a tiller-style steering handle with integrated twist-grip throttle controls. The exterior is finished in gray, and the cowling features a large decal with the letters MARINER in white over red, orange, and yellow racing stripes. The top rear of the cowling displays the number 15. The motor is equipped with a white-finished three-blade propeller and a red coiled safety kill-switch lanyard. It includes an externally mounted mounting bracket with manual screw clamps. A black and silver metal data plate is affixed to the mounting bracket, embossed with MODEL MARINER 15M, CODE 684C S, and SERIAL No. 055345. A secondary plate states MADE IN JAPAN and PAYS D ORIGINE JAPON. The throttle handle indicates FAST, START, 100, and 0 positions.
Condition report:
The outboard motor is in good used cosmetic condition. The cowling and decals remain vibrant with minimal fading or peeling. The paint on the midsection and lower unit shows minor scuffs and surface wear consistent with age and use. The propeller exhibits brownish mineral staining and minor edge wear on the blades. Mechanical and operational condition has not been tested; the motor is sold as-is. Engine hours we are told by the estate are less than 30 hours.
