Description
A vintage Sears Craftsman Sears Best 1 HP portable air compressor and paint sprayer, model number 919.156220. This unit features a two-cylinder design powered by an electric Hi-Torq motor and is mounted on a 12-gallon (45.4 liter) horizontal tank. It is rated for a maximum pressure of 100 PSI (689 kPa). Performance specifications include a displacement of 8.5 CFM and air delivery of 7.5 SCFM at 40 PSI and 6.1 SCFM at 90 PSI. The compressor is enclosed in a molded off-white plastic shroud with integrated cooling vents and a front-facing control panel. The panel includes dual analog gauges for outlet pressure and tank pressure, a central pressure regulator knob, and a three-position toggle switch. The unit is designed for portability with two solid wheels and a tubular metal handle. Markings include the Sears Craftsman and Sears Best logos, detailed specification plates, and a safety label for the ASME tank valve. Condition report:
The compressor exhibits signs of heavy use in a workshop environment with an accumulation of dust, dirt, and surface grime throughout. There is visible surface oxidation and rust on the tubular metal handle. The plastic housing is intact but discolored with handwritten marker instructions near the power switch. Gauges and mechanical controls appear complete. The unit is untested for electrical or mechanical operation and is being sold as-is. Seller describes all tools as in good working condition - he is a fine woodworker and kept everything in very nice working order.
