Description
A five piece hand crafted bedroom suite constructed from oak with a whitewashed pickled finish. The set features recessed geometric stepped line carvings accented with light blue pigment and original brass toned cast metal hardware with relief molded Southwestern motifs. The suite includes a long dresser, a landscape mirror, a tall multi-functional storage chest, a headboard, and a pair of nightstands. The long dresser is configured with six drawers flanking a central storage compartment. The tall multi-functional chest contains a three drawer column on the right and a left hand cupboard section with vertical dividers and a pull-out tray; the top of the unit features a top-hinged door that reveals two interior drawers. The two nightstands each have a single drawer over an open storage shelf. The headboard features matching geometric cut-outs and pigmented accents. All drawers are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints. No manufacturer marks or labels are present.
Condition report:
The suite is in very good vintage condition. Minor scuffing and finish wear are present on the edges and corners of the case pieces and headboard consistent with age and use. Light fading and localized loss to the colored pigment is visible in some recessed grooves. One nightstand shows minor surface discoloration on the interior of the open shelf. The mirror glass is intact with no visible silvering loss or chips. Some mattress stains. No smell home, but they did have cats.
