Description
A craftman high end Birds Eye maple contemporary studio craft console table designed with a flip top mechanism to convert into a dining or work table. The top is constructed from two leaves of highly figured bird’s eye maple joined by three heavy duty surface mounted hinges. The base is crafted from maple and utilizes a gate leg design where the end panels are hinged to swing outward to support the secondary leaf when unfolded. The trestle style frame features curved end panels and diagonal cross bracing. Construction details include decorative exposed pinned mortise and tenon joinery. Each end panel is embellished with a relief carved and inlaid cattail motif made of contrasting woods including walnut and dyed green wood, framed by dark wood stringing. No maker marks or signatures are visible.

Condition report:
The table is in excellent condition. The wood finish is bright and uniform with no visible scratches, dents, or signs of wear. All structural joints are tight and the folding mechanism and gate leg panels function smoothly. No repairs or restorations are evident. The craftsman who made this piece has his shop on the premises along with incredible tools. Be sure to look at them all. Custom made by seller in shop that houses all the tools to make this happen! Unbelievable quality. No smell home.
